Chimps don’t go “moo”!, or, all about us

Blocks go "moo" as well

I know, I know! It’s a silly little phrase my husband and I invented after our daughter learned cows go moo. Unfortunately, to her, so do cats, ducks, dogs, etc. Her grandmother loves to stick chimps into every story, so when she asked E, she moo-ed. Silly, right? It’s just the kind of people we are.

This blog is about our family and our crafty adventures. I’m a photographer and a knitter but in August 2009 I decided to teach myself to sew. I can use all the encouragement you can give! My husband is a crazy inventor; you will enjoy some of the things he puts together.

What are all these initials?

S: Daddy! He’s a computer tech and all around handyman. He could give McGuyver a run for his money and he also is a romantic at heart. In December we’ll celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Z: The oldest. A bit of a know-it-all, but with good reason — he really does know it all. He takes piano lessons and loves tennis. He’s learning to cook and sew right along with me.

A: Second child. Artist, very sensitive and very smart. Is the best comedian I know and never fails to have a new noise or sound to show off. A sweetheart who plays guitar.

E: The unexpected surprise baby girl. She is stubborn, has a temper and loves her “Pwees” (pretties) She doesn’t hesitate to get rough and tumble with her brothers. She was so ugly when she was born she was nicknamed “monkeybutt” and the name stuck. Poor thing.

About me: I love the color purple, but I almost never wear it. I never wanted to be a mother, but I don’t know what I would do without my children. I value silence, heavy metal is my favorite music. I love photography, but don’t take my picture. My children are homeschooled, but not by me.
